    Modern Reindeer Ornament

November 12, 2014 by Ashley Mayes 26 Comments

I'm excited to announce that I'm one of a group of bloggers who are bringing you handmade ornaments for twelve days! Meaning, collectively, we are putting together 144 ornaments over the next twelve days! Crazy, right? So, today kicks off Day 1 of the 12 days and I'm sharing a Modern Reindeer Ornament tutorial. I'm excited because it's so easy and cute!

    DIY Modern Reindeer Ornament

I've fallen hard for succulents this year and also those ceramic (or real) deer heads that are everywhere. So, what better way to continue to love both those things than by putting it on my tree, right?

I know you can't see the size, but it's pretty large (around 10 inches) and cost about $2.99 (use that 50% coupon and get it cheaper though).

I also picked up some faux succulents.

I cut the stems off the succulents (right at the flower).

From there, I hot glued the pieces on the reindeer. Easy peasy, right?

Thanks Cristina! I'm thinking about cutting off the hanger after Christmas and popping it in a frame. I think it could totally work for year-around decor.

Nothing like an easy project to get this party started, right? I love all things reindeer/antler related too. The succulents look adorable on it!

Thanks Chaney! Most of mine are going to be pretty easy... I can't handle 12 involved projects right now. =)

I am going to enjoy this series! Love fun ornaments, our tree has been stuck in a rut for several years, this will be good inspiration to spice it up. This one is so simple and classic - really, really like it!

Perfect timing, right? I'm feeling the need to change mine up as well. Luke and I have had the same exact tree for 8+ years now... I'm so tired of it!

okay you have us beat! Our tree is only a couple years old, but I've been using the same ornaments for at least 10 years. It's definitely time for an update!

Thanks Kimberly! It would be super cute for a package tie on (at least a big package... it's pretty big).
