  1. Grab a large mixing bowl. Measure out two cups of masa and pour it in the bowl. Add 1.5 cups of hot water to the masa.
  2. Use your hands and mix together. Knead into a ball. Cover with plastic wrap until skillet is hot.
  3. Heat a cast iron skillet on high heat.
  4. Take your ball and place it on the counter. Cut in half with a knife. Cut each halve into half again. Repeat this process until you have 16 small pieces.
  5. Roll each piece into a ball.
  6. Place a cut ziplock bag onto a tortilla press. Sprinkle with masa (so that your tortillas won’t stick). Press each ball, individually in the press.
  7. Place a flattened tortilla in the skillet. Cook for approximately 30 sec-1 min and flip.
  8. Best if served immediately. Until all tortillas are cooked, wrap each finished tortilla together in a towel.
