Craigslist for The Win!!

Do you shop on Craigslist? I either get on there quite frequently or I forget about it for months. I’m like that with quite a few things but I’m definitely like that with Craigslist. BUT, if you are a regular shopper there then you know that there are BARGAINS to be found. Seriously, there are so many great things on there. I kinda wish we lived in a bigger city because, every once and awhile, I’ll look (for kicks) at what a bigger city has on Craigslist and I’m blown away. Even if you live in a smaller city (like me!) there are still awesome things to be found.

A few weeks ago, I hurt my back. Like, I was laying on the couch for two weeks unless I was going to therapy appointments. Well, a girl can only do so much Netflix. Low and behold, I hopped on Craigslist and found an amazing pair of chairs. I texted the seller to see if he still had them and he did. I knew Luke wouldn’t be crazy about them until I showed him a few inspiration pictures from Pinterest on how they could work in our living room.

He still wasn’t crazy about the Craigslist chairs but he agreed to go pick them up.

Our Living Room : Before, Progress, and More Progress

The living room… that funny place that we spend lots of time yet has just started to come along. Ha. Do you ever feel like you just can’t figure a space out? Our living room has stumped me for the longest time. It’s pretty large yet not quite large enough to have two separate spaces. Yet, still too large for having furniture (the furniture that we have anyways) to fill the space. Let’s walk back through memory lane and then I’ll share my thoughts as well as some new pictures of where we are at currently. And, if you have a longer living space… please share in the comments. Living Room Gallery Wall with Design Help

Happy Monday. Hope you all had a great weekend. We celebrated Father’s Day on Saturday by going to a waterpark and just hanging out. On Sunday, we celebrated both of our dad’s with dinner and pool time. All of that is to say, that it was very DIY project light this weekend. #oops Anyways,  it’s about time for me to get my act together and start blogging agin, right?! I thought I’d share a little “before” of our living room gallery wall. While we were on our trip, I had some friends share their gallery walls and how they go about making them. I also asked each one of them to critique my wall to see what they would say. They were all much nicer than they should have been! You see, I did a gallery wall in our living room awhile back and, while I liked it on it’s own, I never loved it with the room in general. It just bugged me. You know those things that you can’t quite put your finger on? That was it! So, today I want to share the “Before” of our living room gallery wall.

DIY Modern Floor Lamp

DIYS Inspired by Land of Nod

So, you can see from the image that we have amazing projects this month. This month was DIYs inspired by Land of Nod. I chose to make a DIY Modern Floor Lamp. I love it and know you will as well!

Coming in at $150, it’s a pretty good price for a floor lamp. But, as my DIY’ers know, if there’s a will there’s a way. Ha. For me, I’m not afraid to splurge on an item that I really want and need, but for items that I just want (instead of need), I feel like the DIY route is the perfect way to go! I came up with a pretty good #knockoutknockoff of this and for a fraction of the original cost. My total came to under $25!…
