Are you all sick of seeing New Years resolutions? I'm a huge planner over here so it definitely comes naturally for me to make plans or lists. When it's the time of year that everyone is talking about it then it is even more natural for me to want to do it. So, let's chat about What's on the Agenda for the Year.
I made a Renovation/Home Wish list for last year and then I followed that up by the project reveals in December. It was fun to look back and see what all we had accomplished and which plans had changed. So, let's do that rodeo again.
Playroom/Office Combo
Do you remember what our playroom/office looks like on a good day?
Let's be honest, that's just one small corner of the space and that's a very good day around here (meaning, that one small space is hardly ever clean). This is one space that I'm going to tackle. More details on this will be coming soon but let's just say that I'm not ready to do a full-on renovation for this space. This is really going to be a "let's try to make this space feel a bit more inviting, organized and not as dreary". So, if you are curious to see how I'm going to work with wood paneling... make sure to stay tuned!
Front Doors
We used to have storm doors on our front entryway. They were not in good shape and they blocked light in our entryway.
We ditched them pretty soon after we moved in.
From far away, it looks ok but when you get closer you see more imperfections.
The door locks are, annoyingly, not even. Air flows right under the right door. The two doors stick together in the summer making it hard to open the right one and the decorative glass makes the entry so dark.
So, my hope this year is that we are able to change the doors or replace the doors.
Basement
I'm saving you guys by not sharing a picture of our basement. Get a picture in your mind of a dungeon with wood paneling and a low-hung, drop-tile ceiling. It's bad down there! We don't have any grand plans to completely renovate the basement this year but we hope to get started on it.
We hope to gut the basement, firm up a plan, and start on it. It's not a walk-out basement, so we do have limitations but I think it could host a fun workout room, movie/hangout spot and space for Luke's ping pong table.
Outdoor Patio / Rock Bed
We would love to upgrade our table on the patio. It's basically falling apart. It was a great Craigslist find about 5 years ago but it's lived it's life. So, making or buying a table and chairs are definitely on our list.
We have some drainage issues with our yard and really have the perfect side area to make a dry/wet rock bed. We are still considering our options for this as well as if this would be a DIY project or not.
Various DIYs and Room Tweaks
I've been slowly working on our master bedroom and I'm happy to report that it's almost done. Or, it's almost to a point where I'm good with saying "here's our bedroom reveal".
A few other DIY projects or room tweaks are in the works. Nothing huge, but things that I'm excited about.
One thing that I want to get back to doing is showing progress in rooms while we are DIYing and also more how-to tutorials.
Hope you all are excited about a fun new year, because I know I am!

Sounds like a good list of updates this year!! We have our house on the market and we already have a contract on another house (pending our house selling) and I have a list of projects to do at our new house. But I am not sharing about them until we purchase that house just in case something falls through.

Yes, definitely! Hope everything comes through like you want it to.
