Greyson's Room

The entryway update is coming...I promise. Maybe early next week?

Anyways, we closed on this house 02/17/2012. We are just about to hit the one year mark here. I thought it would be fun to show some progress pictures of then and now.

So, with that in mind, here is Greyson's room.

His room was the first to be painted when we moved in.

Can you see why?

We thought we were painting a true gray, but it is definitely blue. Do we like it? Um, no. Is it better? Yes. Will we repaint? Yes!

I would love to get rid of the firetruck bed. It doesn't exactly fit my idea of a put together room. Greyson loves it though, so it stays.

I started putting up this gallery wall bit by bit. Adding to it is on the to-do list. We picked up the magnetic board at Ikea. The coat rack is from Ross and the little red buckets are from the dollar spot at Target.

We took off one of the doors to his closet with the idea of creating a reading nook. We had books on the shelves until just recently. He used it some, but not a lot. I do like the door off because it just seemed a bit crowded with it on. I would like to paint the trim, door and inside the closet. Maybe decorate the nook and try to make it more off a camp out area? I'm not sure.

So, his room is definitely better than it was a year ago, but still not where I want it to be. To be honest, I find his room depressing. It feels like a miss-match of furniture and decor. I have some ideas to help it become more of a transition between little boy and big boy (with the firetruck bed). I'm thinking this summer sounds like a good time to start on it. =)
