I'm gonna call it done. Well, until I decide to order another piece of art or print another picture. You know how it is. Actually, I feel like I'm at a good "holding off" stage of the left side of the hallway. So, when I order a piece of art or print more pictures, I will probably start adding a gallery wall on the right side of the hallway. Geez, I wonder how long that will take me to start & finish. To be fair, I want this hallway to be ever evolving with our trips. I want it to grow with frames and knick-knacks.
Anyways, this is what we started with:
This is where we're at:
I really wish I had a wide angle lens to show you. It looks so good in person. You'll have to trust me. =)
Luke and I are coffee snobs drinkers. The Blue Mountain coffee from Jamaica was by far the best coffee we've ever had and it doesn't hurt to have a fun reminder of our honeymoon as well.
I fell in love with highland cows when we were in Scotland. When we came back home, I got on Etsy and found Helkat Designs. They have the most amazing stitched pieces. I had to have the cow pillow to put on my wall.
I tried blowing the money up to make a cool piece, but in the end neither Luke or I loved it. I framed the pound on top of white paper and I think it looks nice because of the mat. I think I would have hated this framed in an Ikea cheap-o frame. Not that I'm knocking on the Ikea frames (becaues they are on my wall too!), but I think that this particular piece needed a "beefier" mat/frame combo.
The Raider/Chiefs game tickets came from our trip to California. We have this crazy wish to see the Chiefs play in every stadium in the US. Hopefully, we can move these tickets to more of a shadowbox style frame when we have more tickets to add to them. I did frame these in the cheap Ikea frames, because I didn't have anything else on hand. =)
I found a trick while framing some of my pictures. I really like unusual sized photos. I think the above one is 7x12. Instead of paying for custom mats, I just taped the photo on top of a mat that was meant for a 5x7. You would have to look pretty close to see that the picture is on top instead of behind.
Whew, I can't believe I can finally call it "sorta done". We are both enjoying it and I hope Greyson will grow to love it as well.

Oh, and our entryway was featured on Blogger Homes yesterday. Fun stuff!

I saw that Julia @ Cuckoo 4 Design had listed you on her Leibster award and I had to stop over to check out your blog. Your gallery wall is fantastic! I love all of the different sizes that you have going on, but that it still looks really nice and polished and cohesive.

Thanks for coming by. =)

LOVE IT!! It's so classy looking. It's really easy to go too far with a wall gallery, ending up with a jumbled mess, you did a great job making it streamline and very put together. Well Done!! You're inspiring me to "clean up" my wall gallery in our entry!
