Canopy bed ideas including a DIY canopy bed, king size bed canopy inspiration, and more to jumpstart your bedroom makeover.
While browsing online, I've stumbled across a few king canopy bed frame options. I thought for a while that canopied beds were a little dated but they have been really making a comeback. I definitely don't need a new bed frame but I have been really inspired, so I thought I'd round up some inspiration to share with you.
9 Canopy Bed Ideas to Inspire!
Most of these are larger beds, but honestly, they would work well in most rooms in any-sized bed configurations. One thing to think about is the ceiling height of your bedroom, but other than that, the bed frame doesn't take up any extra space width-wise.
Black wood canopy bed
I love this Jenny Lind inspired bed. I think the shiny black paint with the wallpaper is such a fun vibe.
Curtained bed frame
Draping curtains over the top in this way is casual yet also, makes a statement. I love the understated elegance to this room.
Tall queen canopy bed
This room is a perfect example of having an ultra tall bed frame and how to make it work - you basically have to have extra tall ceilings! The casual yet collected vibe of this bedroom is great. Also, I'm obsessed with the rug hanging from the frame in that perfectly imperfect way.
Black metal canopy bed
Before I started rounding up inspiration to share, I thought that bedrooms had to be larger to make a queen sized canopy bed work. After seeing this gorgeous room though, I'm realizing that the bed can be the star. I also think that the slim lines to this frame helps the eye not get overwhelmed, too.
Woven wood bed frame
I've never seen a woven bed frame like this and I'm obsessed. I think this stye could work in a lot of different decor styles.
Luxurious bedroom
I like the head of having a padded headboard incorporated the four posts. Typically, you see harder headboards and honestly, I would choose a padded headboard when I could. Leaning against a padded headboard at night while reading is much nicer than trying to get comfortable with just a wood headboard.
DIY ceiling bed canopy with curtains
Love this DIY canopy bed. As you can see, they used a traditional bed frame and then hung curtains from the ceiling to make it appear like it's a curtained canopy bed. This is a smart, whimsical and cost-effective way to get the look without breaking the bank.
Upholstered four post canopy bed
A fully upholstered four post canopy bed is rare to see so when I saw this one, I knew I wanted to share it. I love the lines of this bed and how it add presence to the space but without taking over.
Metal and fabric bed
I think a strictly taupe or grey headboard feels overdone in bedrooms for the most part, because we see those options everywhere. Adding the metal (steel?) four post to the upholstered frame definitely adds interest and makes the bed stand out.
Can you see why I was inspired by these bedrooms? I just love to gather inspiration and see what strikes me.
Need other bedroom decor ideas?
Like I mentioned earlier, I'm not in the market to upgrade or change my bed, but I do love looking at room inspiration. I feel like you can learn so much by letting yourself be inspired by rooms even if it's not a room on your radar to change.
