Hi Everyone! We are officially past the halfway mark on the 12 days of Christmas Ornaments. It feels so good that I’ve been able to keep up! =) I would say that crafting is definitely not my strong point so this has been a good experience of getting out of my comfort zone. I’m much more comfortable with scheming up room designs and making things out of wood. Crazy, right?

Today, I’m sharing another simple and easy ornament. This one took about ten minutes and would be cute in almost any fabric!

Ornament Tutorial for a Scrap Fabric Ball Ornament-1

Cut your fabric scraps into a 1 inch square (approximately). Cut your wire into 1.5-2 inch strips.

Twist your wire around the middle of your fabric.

Stick the wire portion into the styrofoam ball. You don’t need any glue for this.

Keep going and going. Seriously, I felt like the energizer bunny here. It was a bit like a never-ending ten minute process!

When you get the whole ball filled, insert a longer piece of the wire in the top to make a loop for hanging the ornament.

I really like this ornament but it took a lot longer than 10 minutes- how about almost 2 hours. I was going to make six- I changed my mind. I used the larger styrofoam ball- I just don’t have enough time to make another. Mine was very full and pretty, but certainly took awhile

Oh no! I wonder if the size of the foam was just drastically different. Mine was about the size of golf ball. Also, I used pretty thick fabric which helped it fill it. You shouldn’t give up… I bet it’s pretty!
