Canvas Art Ideas
I absolutely love this simple black canvas art. You could eyeball this type of painting or if you could get a level out and make all your lines straight. Either way, I think this is a doable art project for all ages.
This abstract art on canvas look so good and could be customized with color choices. I can see a piece like this working in alot of spaces.
Customize this bucket list for national parks, states, etc. The process for reusing an old canvas is provided with my tutorial.
I have to say it... Go Bold Or Go Home! Ha. This art piece is so vibrant, which I love, but again, you could easily customize it to more subtle colors, too.
Instead of painting on a canvas, you can attach pennants or other memorabilia to the front. I did this with my pennants and then I had an acrylic frame made to go over it.
Another simpler DIY abstract canvas art idea with two colors.
I'm obsessed with the texture on this piece. Gah, I love it so much. I do think that this piece probably yields itself better to a smaller canvas.
Take a ripped vintage rug and learn how to make a DIY Framed Rug Wall Art piece in just a few steps. This piece isn't actually hung on a canvas but the idea is one that is more easily replicated on a plain canvas so I wanted to include it.
I shared a bunch of really cool DIY Plaster art ideas a few months back. If you love the look of this one, definitely check out the whole post.
Instead of painting on a canvas, this tutorial shows how to actually put together a canvas. If you want a large-scale piece of art, making your own canvas is definitely doable.
Combining two colors in a simple pattern can be done in so many ways. I like the look of this simple art with the addition of the canvas frame and the wall light. Without those two styling pieces, you might think that this piece falls a bit flat.
Bold and fun, I thought this was a great choice to show you how two canvases could be hung together for a bigger impact.
This post is so old but I wanted to share more about canvas art sizing. I feel like most people don't get big enough art for their spaces and that can make a wall feel off.
I hope you feel inspired to try one of these for your own home. If you have some unique art that you just need a frame for, I did a really fun DIY bubble frame recently. Basically, I took an old Ikea frame, hot glued half wood round balls to it and spray painted the frame. It was an EASY project and one that I just love. I actually loved it so much that I recreated it but this time, I spray painted the mat, too. I actually think the second one turned out even better than the first.
Speaking of frame and mat ideas, there are honestly so many ways that you can customize art that you have or make. In the basement, I painted mat boards to give a gallery wall down the stairs a fresh look. The key to that project is to brush on the paint lightly and just as coats as needed.
We've also cut our own photo mats. That project is trickier but it's doable and can give you a custom look for a fraction of the price of what it would cost to have the mat board cut for you.
My biggest hope is that you take some of these ideas and make them yours. Art and framing should totally speak to you and they both really help make your home feel truly customized.
